BIO / JOHN BLACKMER
John Blackmer’s photography has been recognized for excellence by the William Randolph Hearst Foundation, the Royal Photographic Society of London, the Associated Press, and Windows on Houston, to name a few.
He has been awarded “National Press Photographer of the Year” by the National Press Photographers Association, and was a member of the Pulitzer Prize-winning photography staff at the Orange County Register in Southern California, Phoenix-metropolitan newspapers, and the Idaho Statesman.
John crafted his photography skills while studying photojournalism and graphic design at Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Public Communications. He continues to pursue life’s “decisive moments” through his imagery and words.
Specializing in fine art, editorial, location, and corporate photography, John is based in Phoenix, Arizona.
